The Sootywell Project

suburban • erotica

A private photographic collaboration (18+). Each set is shaped by the participant's own fantasy, comfort, and boundaries — from gentle and implied to explicit, if they choose.

Everyone uses pseudonyms. Each participant writes their own short text to accompany their images.

About the project

It works using pseudonyms (your 'porn star' name). The Sootywell Project began over a decade ago as anonymous collaborations that explored suburban erotica. It grew quickly through returning participants and quiet word-of-mouth.

Part II is a relaunch after a long pause. It's slower, clearer, and more intentional: participant-led concepts, calm communication, and a respectful process. This is about suburban erotica and hidden fetishes, whatever turns ordinary people on, photographed tastefully.

The explicitness (if any) comes from the individual. My role is to photograph it safely and with care. Participants receive their images privately and decide what is kept. It was common to shoot the same person in different fantasies, as the confidence grea nd ideas flowed.

Based in Brisbane / SE Queensland. Open to adults of all body types, genders, and ages (18+). No modelling experience required. Responses typically within 48 hours.

Series I — 2010–2012

The original series

Between 2010-2012, twelve participants collaborated on Series I. The project was compiled as a limited edition, non-commercial book, with each participant receiving their complete image set and contributing personal text under their chosen pseudonym.

Part II continues this established approach — participant-authored narratives, collaborative creative process, and absolute discretion. Below are examples of how participants from Part I shaped their own stories.

Participant-authored narratives

Each participant writes their own accompanying text under their pseudonym. These examples from Part I show the range — intimate, poetic, personal. Your text can be as minimal or expansive as you like.

Some chose poetry, others prose. The only requirement is that it's yours — written after you've seen your images.

FAQ

Is this anonymous?

Yes. Everyone uses a pseudonym ("pornstar name"). We can plan for privacy and avoid identifying details where requested.

Do I need to be a model?

No. No experience required. Open to adults of all body types, genders, and ages (18+).

Do I have to be explicit?

No. You set the tone and pace. Explicitness is optional and participant-led.

What are the hard limits?

Adults 18+ only. Consent is ongoing; you can pause or stop at any time. Strictly legal only. Nothing illegal is photographed.

Who gets the images?

You do. Delivered privately. As per the release, only the official images will be used.

Is it paid?

Usually no — the exchange is the experience and the images. For rare concepts that are unusually ambitious or specific, compensation can be discussed.Compensation can be taken in the form of your own photshoot, for your portfolio, completely aside from the project.

How long does a session take?

Typically 2-4 hours, but we work at your pace. Some people prefer a single session, others prefer to build over multiple shorter meetings.

What happens to rejected images?

Deleted permanently. No backups, no storage. What doesn't get used for the project doesn't exist.

Can I bring a support person?

Yes, if that makes you comfortable. This can be discussed during planning. You amy also shoot with another person,if that is your desire.

Where do shoots take place?

The fantasy is yours, so the venue is yours too. Most shoots happen at the participant's home (as you can see from the images - it is suburban erotica, not glam), though some have chosen public locations. We discuss location during planning to match your concept and comfort level.
